Software:

The Labrokes Poker 12.9 MB software is a specialized version of Microgaming’s original software.  It runs incredibly smoothly with clean graphics that are not over-the-top in their complexity.  In addition, the data and statistics functions as well as the multi-table play all work very well.

Table:

The Ladbrokes graphics in the table view are neat and clear with customizable table colors and backgrounds. Players are represented by grey, slightly-transparent icons that indicate username, chip amount, and status in the hand (folded, action, mucked, etc.).

While at the table, players can use the “Show Stats” tab to get information on their own play including win percentage, checks, calls, folds and countless others.  The table window also allows you to take notes on opposing players and provides a nice hand history function.  These hand history statistics are also exportable for quantitative analysis to track your own play and improvement.

With regards to multi-table play, Ladbrokes allows its members to play at up to eight different tables simultaneously.  The multi-table settings allow for smooth gameplay and, with the use of the mini-view windows, up to five different tables can be seen at the same time.

Lobby:

In the Ladbrokes lobby you can scroll through all of the ring-games and tournaments by poker game, stakes, limit and the number of players at the table or on the waiting list. The lobby also provides important stable stats which you can sort by including average pot size, viewed flop percentage and hands per hour.

Finally, the Ladbrokes lobby is the only place where you can set your customizable game play options, deposit money with the cashier and fill out a submission form to redeem your player points.

Games:

Ladbrokes hosts a variety of different poker games including Texas Hold’em, Omaha, Omaha Hi-Lo, Seven-Card Stud, Five-Card Stud, and Five-Card Draw.

The games vary between No-Limit, Pot-Limit and Fixed-Limit. Most of the ring-game players compete on the low-mid stakes No-Limit Texas Hold’em tables. Stakes range from $0.02/$0.05 to $200/$400.

Score: 9/10

Competition:

For a relatively old, and well-established site, the competition at Ladbrokes poker can be very soft and the games loose and juicy.  The 10-player tables in both Omaha and Hold’em generally have viewed-flop percentages in the high 30’s low 40’s.  These tables are great for intermediate and advanced players to make some money and hone their skills.

The six-person tables, on the other hand, are generally even looser and wilder. Viewed flop percentages at these tables can get as high as 65% but generally find a happy medium somewhere in the mid-50’s

Score: 9.5/10

Rake Structure:

The Ladbrokes Poker uses a fixed rake schedule that is 5% of the pot with a max rake of $3. At lower stakes tables or at tables with fewer than 6 people, the max rakes will decrease.  This is policy is right in-line with the industry standard.

Score: 9 /10

Ladbrokes offers its players 24/7 e-mail and telephone support.  Both provide helpful service and quick responses, and the staff is both polite and knowledgeable.
