Software:
Available as a download client only, the Mansion Poker 37.5 MB software is very solid and ranks particularly well in terms of its reliability and security of personal information. Although the customizable game play options are slightly lacking, the software makes up for it with unique statistics provided and in-game functions.
Table:
The in-game graphics are 3-D and clean (not as much in the no-download client but still good) with fast, smooth game play. The table colors and backgrounds are ll customizable as well. One customizable option that is pretty rare are the in-game hot keys for folding, raising, etc. It’s just one of the few ways Mansion Poker tries to create a relaxed, complete poker playing experience
The statistics functions available in the table view are incredibly helpful. They provide personal statistics such as win percentage, viewed flop percentage, showdowns won, etc. Also, they provide rare, personal all-in statistics which come in especially handy in the No-Limit games. Finally, the hand history functions are very well done and are exportable to a local hard drive for analysis.
The notes functions, allowing you to make descriptions of other players and grade them, are easy-to-use and very helpful in the long run. With regards to multi-table play, Mansion Poker allows you to play at up to four different tables simultaneously. Although the multi-table play generally runs without hesitation, some older computers do have trouble accomodating it.
Lobby:
In the Mansion Poker lobby you can view the long list of ring-games and tournaments by poker game, stakes, limit and the number of players at the table or on the waiting list. There are also valuable table stats provided including average pot size, viewed flop percentage and hands per hour.
In addition, the Mansion lobby is where you can set your customized game play settings, deposit money with the cashier and fill out a submission form to redeem your player points.
Score: 8.5/10
Games:
Mansion Poker hosts offers No-Limit, Pot-Limit, and Fixed-Limit games of Texas Hold’em, Omaha, Omaha Hi-Lo, Seven-Card Stud, Seven-Card Stud Hi-Lo and Five-Card Draw. The smallest stakes are $0.10/$0.20 and get as high as $50/$100 for No-Limit games and $1,000/$2,000 in Fixed-Limit games.
Score: 9.5/10
Competition:
For a site on the Ongame network – which hosts some of the top poker talent in the UK and Europe – Mansion Poker still has some pretty soft-competition and loose games at the low-to-mid stakes/limit tables. Viewed flop percentages on these tables range from the low 30’s to as high as the mid 50’s.
On the higher stakes No-Limit and Fixed-Limit tables, however, the competition admittedly gets pretty tough. Only venture to these spots if you are supremely confident in your poker playing abilities.
Score: 8/10
Rake Structure:
No flop, no drop policy in effect. Mansion Poker’s rake is the industry-standard 5% of the total pot with a max rake of $3 on tables with six players or more. For the lower-limit tables and for hands with less than six players the maximum rake drops off.
Score: 10 /10
